The Essie B. & William Earl Glenn Foundation for Better Living

Where family bonds drive community impact.

The Glenn Family Foundation was chartered and commissioned as a sibling inspired, family-focused, community-based organization to honor the rich legacy of our Mother (Essie), and Father (William), and their commitment to service.  Our organization endeavors to create thriving communities and eliminate barriers impacting children, youth, and families.

Dr. Clyde Edward Glenn discusses the Glenn Family Foundation’s origin and the Foundation’s role in helping families thrive and to be their very best. Partnerships with other organizations are essential to responding to community issues as the Jackson water crisis.

The Essie B. & William Earl Glenn Foundation for Better Living hosted over 700 participants from across the Delta to receive fresh fruits and vegetables, flu shots, COVID-19 At-home Test and vaccinations, blood pressure and diabetes checks, and other health assessments, along with helpful information on available community resources.

Promoting Resilience

The Glenn Family Foundation’s executive board founded the ACEs Awareness Foundation to help increase the community’s understanding of trauma and the dose effect of toxic adverse childhood experiences on health outcomes, choices and later-life behaviors. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) is the acronym used to describe various forms of abuse, neglect and other traumatic experiences.
