Congratulations Glenn Family Foundation on your acceptance in Robert Woods Johnson Foundation County Health Rankings & Roadmaps 2020 Community Cohort
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the largest philanthropic organization in the United States that focuses solely on health, in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin’s Population Health Institute has selected the Mississippi Delta-based Essie B. & William Earl Glenn Foundation for Better Living (Glenn Family Foundation) as one of 10 community organizations to participate in their 2020 County Health Rankings Cohorts. For the next six months, the cohort under the strategic direction of a Learning Coach will explore how to put the County Health Rankings into action to improve health and advance health equity in Mississippi communities. Participants will utilize evidence-based strategies to transform neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and more—so that the opportunity for better health flourishes for all.
The County Health Rankings & Roadmaps compares the health of nearly all counties in the United States to others in your state, and tackle the social, economic, and environmental factors that influence health. Counites in your state are rated on various qualities to include health outcomes, health factors, health behaviors, clinical factors, social & economic factors, and physical environment.
“I am honored that our family foundation has been selected to elevate our mission to improve life outcomes for children, youth, and families in the Mississippi Delta. This mission will be enhanced through skill-sets acquired by participating in the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation initiative. Our goal is to align with partners like the University of Wisconsin’s Population Health Institute working in tandem to build a culture of health in the Mississippi Delta. Our late Mother (Essie) and Father (William) would be proud said Dr. Clyde E. Glenn, practicing psychiatrist and President of the Glenn Family Foundation.’
The Glenn Family Foundation’s County Health Rankings cohort is a team that consists of individuals from various backgrounds to include community health, dentistry, epidemiology, government, education, faith-based, law, and communications.
